day sixteen

dear god

thank you for today. i am of course thankful for tylon's placement today. but i am thankful for so many other things as well. for colton for being so awesome as a big brother to him! for sean for taking on another foster child after all the hurt from last time. for a mom who just has to come by to meet him on his first day. for a boss offering to give me a bunch of time off without me even asking. for an old boss willing to take colton for the morning on minutes notice. for all of the friends who have checked in, offered to bring meals, and let us know they're supporting us and praying for us. for a social worker for dcfs willing to go way above and beyond, not for us but for a kid on her case load.

i pray for frank and ezekiel. i ask that you are protecting them, helping them to attach well, and making sure they are being introduced to you.

i pray for the teens that kristen told us about that need to be adopted. i pray that you will find them a family soon whether it's us or not.

i am so glad one more kid has a family today but please keep placing orphans in loving families.

thank you for giving us the opportunity and the bravery to share our home and our family. keep showing us what else we have that you want us to share.

forgive me for making this process an idol and thinking more about this than about you. help me to refocus now that we are settling in. thank you for providing for us when we have a new one to provide for and help us to be wise with how we manage our time and money.

i ask that you help all of us sleep well tonight. for tylon as he is adjusting, for colton as he is so excited, for me as i'm worrying about everyone else, and especially for sean as he is carrying so so much responsibility.
